Coffee‘s Bitterness, Whose Tears?

The wheels of time roll forward, sweeping everyone along. These days, even drinking a cup of coffee is no longer pure.

You think you're drinking an elixir to refresh your mind, but in reality, you might be swallowing a carefully packaged dose of "anxiety."

Recently, CCTV exposed so-called "slimming coffee," tearing off the fig leaf of false advertising in this industry. Something that costs just a few yuan is transformed into a "magic drink" priced at tens or even hundreds of yuan, claiming to help you "lose weight even while lying down."

This reminds me of the "diet teas" from years ago – the same old trick with a new name, yet people still jump into the pit one after another.

Why?

Because of anxiety.

In this era, everyone is like a spinning top, rotating at high speed, unable to stop. We are anxious about our body shape, our appearance, our age, our success...

"Thin" has become the aesthetic correctness of this era, and businesses have accurately captured this collective anxiety and turned it into a field of leeks to be harvested.

What they are selling is not coffee, but "hope" – an illusory hope that allows you to quickly become your "ideal self."

These coffees often contain prohibited ingredients such as sibutramine and phenolphthalein. These ingredients can, at best, cause heart palpitations, insomnia, and dry mouth, and at worst, lead to liver and kidney damage, and even endanger life.

You think you are paying for "beauty," but in reality, you are paying for the greed of businesses with your health, and even your life.

This reminds me of the absurd stories written by Kafka.

We are like Gregor in The Metamorphosis, gradually becoming unrecognizable in the pursuit of "better."

We run desperately, but we don't know where the finish line is, or even why we are running.

The advertisements for those "slimming coffees" are like exquisite cages, trapping us in the obsession with "perfection."

We are kidnapped by the aesthetic standards of "fair, young, and thin," and defined by labels like "A4 waist" and "comic legs," but we forget that true beauty should be diverse, healthy, and natural.

I remember when I started my business in my youth, everyone was pursuing "solid work to build the country" and "let some people get rich first." But now, what many people are pursuing is "getting rich overnight" and "making money while lying down."

This change in mentality reflects the distortion of the entire social value system.

When did we start becoming so eager for quick success and so unscrupulous?

This bitter cup of coffee is not only harmful to the body, but also to the heart.

It shows us how many people, in this bizarre era, have lost themselves and their direction on the road to chasing "illusion."

What we need is not a cup of "slimming coffee," but a clear mind, a healthy value system, and a diverse understanding of "beauty."

We need to slow down, calm down, and listen to our inner voice.

Don't be deceived by those false promises, and don't be swept away by those artificially created anxieties.

Remember, the way you are is already beautiful.

True freedom is not about being able to lose weight if you want to, but about being able to gain weight if you want to, drink coffee if you want to, and drink plain water if you want to.

This is the true essence of life.
