The Police Dog Who Slack Off at Work

Old Huang, with today's "Code of Conduct for Police Dogs" in his mouth, squinted his eyes as if studying some profound philosophy. He was a veteran police dog, but recently he had been listless, even too lazy to chase a stray cat. This gave the police dog squad leader a headache. After all, police dogs also need to clock in and have achievements to show for it.

Today, Old Huang was criticized again. The notice read: "Police dog Old Huang, No. 07, has recently been in poor working condition, repeatedly appearing listless at work and being passive in performing tasks. He is ordered to correct this immediately. If it happens again, he will be dismissed."

Old Huang glanced at the notice, yawned, and buried his head under his paws. His colleague, Xiao Hei, approached him and whispered, "Old Huang, what's wrong with you lately? Are you sick?"

Old Huang raised his head, sighed, and said, "Xiao Hei, you're still young, you don't understand. Every day is the same, chasing criminals, sniffing for drugs, even the food is the same dog food. I'm really tired of it."

Xiao Hei shook his head in confusion, "But, we are police dogs, this is our duty, our honor!"

Old Huang snorted and said, "Honor? Can honor fill your stomach? Can it make me happy every day? This system treats us like machines, who can stand it?"

At this moment, the leader's voice came from the broadcast: "Attention all police dogs! Proceed to the training ground immediately for routine training!"

Old Huang slowly stood up and dragged his feet to the training ground. He watched the other police dogs running like they were on steroids, and he felt even more annoyed. He decided that he would absolutely not cooperate with training today.

Training started. Old Huang ran slowly, pretending to have trouble with his legs. When the instructor shouted "Search for drugs," he simply lay on the ground, closed his eyes, and pretended to sleep. The instructor's face turned green with anger, and he roared at Old Huang, "Old Huang! What the hell are you doing?!"

Old Huang opened one eye and said lazily, "Instructor, I'm not in a good mood today, I don't want to work."

The instructor was about to explode with anger, "You! You! You're really going to be the death of me! I'm going to fire you!"

Just then, an urgent alarm sounded, and the broadcast announced: "Suspicious person spotted, all police personnel mobilize immediately!"

All the police dogs quickly went into combat mode, except for Old Huang, who was still lying on the ground, not moving.

Just when everyone thought Old Huang had completely given up, he suddenly got up and rushed out like lightning. He ran all the way, leaving all the other police dogs behind, straight towards the suspicious person.

Everyone was stunned, including the instructor. Old Huang bit the suspicious person's pant leg and dragged him in front of the police. The suspicious person was arrested, and everyone cheered, praising Old Huang for his great contribution.

The leader walked over, patted Old Huang's head, and said with a smile, "Old Huang, you're really great! I knew you wouldn't let me down!"

Old Huang wagged his tail, a sly smile on his face. Little did the leader know, he never intended to train seriously from the beginning. He just wanted the instructor to fire him, so he could justifiably retire, and then go to the snack shop on the corner and eat delicious meat buns every day, instead of chewing on the same dog food every day. As for catching the criminal, it was just a small pastime when he was bored, by the way, a resounding slap to the faces of those who treated him like a machine. See, this system, he still plays it in the palm of his hand.

Notice of criticism? Who cares?
