"Today, it's the 37th time." Old Wang muttered to the register, drawing a circle around the name "Xingxing" with his pen.

His temples began to ache again. Old Wang rubbed them, put down the pen, and looked out at the gate of the park. Still those familiar faces, shuttling between the towering office buildings, like mobile potted plants, all identical, lifeless.

Ever since that actor, Xu Dajiu, cried out online that "Xingxing has entered the park," Old Wang has become the busiest person in the entire park. Every day, people come to ask: "Have you seen Xingxing?" Who Xingxing is, Old Wang doesn't know, only that it is a person the leaders have specifically instructed him to "pay attention" to.

For the first few days, Old Wang was quite excited, feeling that he was also involved in a "hot topic event." He even took a few walks around the park, trying to "bump into" Xingxing. But gradually, he lost interest. Every day, he was just repeating the registration, checking employee badges, and being asked "Where's Xingxing?" by those well-dressed white-collar workers. He felt that his life was also locked in this concrete jungle, just like theirs.

"Sigh, they say this is the 'Silicon Valley' of internet companies, I see it as just a chicken farm." Old Wang mocked himself, feeling like he was just a gate-keeping chicken, repeating "open the gate" and "close the gate" every day.

"Excuse me, sir, can I ask where Xingxing is?" A girl in an off-shoulder top, wearing exquisite makeup, approached him.

"Another one." Old Wang sighed inwardly, but put on a professional smile on his face, "Please register, employee ID."

The girl looked at Old Wang with confusion, then obediently registered. She filled in the employee ID as: SXX888.

"Go inside and look, maybe you are Xingxing," Old Wang said wearily, waving his hand towards the inside of the park, "Good luck."

The girl was taken aback, then suddenly gave a bright smile. "Thank you, sir!"

She turned and walked into the park, the sound of her high heels hitting the ground crisp and clear.

Old Wang watched her back, suddenly feeling that something was wrong. He grabbed the register and flipped to the page he had just used, on which was clearly written: SXX888, Xingxing.

Old Wang was stunned, he thought he might be hallucinating. He rubbed his eyes and looked at that figure again, disappearing behind the towering glass curtain wall in the distance.

As the sun set, Old Wang suddenly felt a sense of powerlessness. He picked up his security guard hat, put it on his head, and took a deep breath.

"Today's shift, I guess it's over?" Old Wang muttered to himself.

He slowly got up from the chair, walked to the register, and at the end of today's entries, he gently signed his name:

"Security guard on duty: Xingxing."

Then, he turned off the light in the guard booth and disappeared into the night.
